Routine maintenance is often referred to as PPM which stands for Planned Preventative Maintenance.
But why is it important for your air conditioning units and what happens during the visit?
An engineer will attend and fully clean the units inside and out, clean condensate drip trays, evaporator coils, fan motor blades, and filters to remove any dust dirt and debris that may have accumulated over time. If this is left it can disrupt the cooling / heating process, reducing efficiency and can damage components. Taking these steps will also improve the overall air quality and noise levels which will provide a comfortable environment.
The units will be thoroughly checked to ensure that they are in good working order, for example there are no water or gas leaks, no blockages and that electrical components and PCB are not damaged. The unit is tested in heating and cooling and temperatures measured.
Outdoor units will receive the same comprehensive checks
If there are any faults found then catching them early is advisable before they become major issues.
Completing these checks regularly at intervals recommended by the engineer ensures that your unit is working efficiently.
If a unit is not performing to its full potential it can affect the energy usage which in turn can increase energy costs.
Keeping up to date with maintenance ensures that you are meeting the manufacturers warranty requirements should you ever need any replacement parts.
We do offer maintenance plans which can be tailored to your needs and that in turn gives you peace of mind that your units are in a good condition and if you are a business then you will be complying with legal requirements.
A PPM plan can improve the lifespan of your units and hopefully avoid any costly breakdowns in the future.
